Amos Lockhart Rozier, 71, passed away in Oklahoma City on May 15, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1953, in Lumberton, NC, to Leon and Annie B. Rozier.
Amos graduated from Asheboro High school in 1972, joining the Air Force shortly thereafter. He said he didn’t care where they sent him as long as he was near a beach, so they planted him right in the middle of the U.S., Tinker Air Force Base. In his earlier years, he loved to play softball, go bowling and take his family to the lake. Amos coached his son’s baseball team and spent endless days at the baseball fields. One of Amos’ favorite things to do was play poker with his friends and hang out with his grandkids every chance he got. Amos also made sure to eat lunch as often as possible with his son, Ian
Amos was known for telling the same “one-liners” time and time again as well as telling the same story over and over again, within the same story, which Felix picked up that trait from him. At no time throughout his life, from when he was spanking his boys at a young age to hanging out with them until his last day, there was no doubt that he loved them with his entire heart
Amos married Sheryl in September of 1998. It didn’t take them long to figure out they loved to travel the country together. Anywhere from Mount Rushmore with their grandson, Brody, to somewhere just as simple as Rush Springs to the Watermelon Festival. Of course, their favorite place to go was back home to see his family in Asheboro, NC.
His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Rozier; son and daughter-in-law, Felix and Keri Rozier; grandsons Brody, Beck and River Rozier; son, Ian Rozier; and his siblings, Ginger Farr, Pat Byerly, and Pete Rozier.
