Ann Murrah Shaw was born on June 17, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years in Dallas, Texas. Ann's parents were the Honorable Judge Alfred P. Murrah and Agnes "Babe" (Milam) Murrah of Oklahoma City. Ann Murrah married Joseph P. Shaw of Tulsa on October 1, 1955. They were married for 51 years until his death in October of 2006. Ann graduated from Classen High School and then attended Old Monticello Women's College in Godfrey, Illinois. She also attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 1953. Ann was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and French Heels. After graduation, she worked as a Society editor for The Oklahoman newspaper and then obtained her real estate license in 1962. She also worked for a local oil and gas company. Ann was an artist and loved painting and supporting the arts community. She also enjoyed playing golf and mah-jongg and was an avid reader. Ann was a devoted Catholic and attended Christ the King Catholic Church in OKC. Ann is predeceased by her husband, Joe Shaw, her brother, A.P. "Paul" Murrah, Jr. and her sister, Sue Wadley. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Stan Murrah and his wife, Barbara and his daughter, Monique, David Murrah and his wife, Kay and their son, Aiden, and Marilynne Clark and her husband, Tom and their children, Leslie and Vance, and Sierra McKee and Jenny Dolan and her husband, Brennan and their children, Jack and Ashlan.
