Bik Zan Szeto

Bik Zan Szeto, 76, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Kaiping, Guangdong, China, Bik Zan was raised working on her family’s farm, where she learned the value of hard work and resilience. In 1979, she immigrated to Tulsa, Oklahoma and began working in the restaurant industry.

In 1981, she married Yui Sin Szeto and moved to Oklahoma City. Shortly after the move, they opened Golden Star, in 1983, along with additional restaurant endeavors. Through long days and years of dedication, they poured their hearts into their businesses until retirement.

Bik Zan found her deepest joy in caring for others and generous spirit. She cooked endlessly, always making more than enough, ensuring all were well fed and leaving with carry-out boxes. She delighted in sending off friends and families with plenty of food and fresh fruit, a simple, but powerful reflection of her love. Her garden was her passion, where she happily grew traditional Chinese vegetables, tending to them with patience and pride.

Many would share that Bik Zan was friendly, sweet, kind, generous, funny, strong and selfless. She was always thinking of others and offering comfort and encouragement when needed.

She is survived by her children: Chung Pak Szeto (wife Mei), Miu King Truong (husband Sam), Hoi Yuen Szeto (wife Hai Hong), Yue Pun Szeto (wife Melissa), and Linder Gendron (husband David), as well as several cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her love forward.

Before every farewell, she would offer her heartfelt wishes: “Greetings to your family, take it easy, talk soon, good health to you, see you soon, and take care.” These simple words reflect the kindness and care she shared so generously.

A funeral service to celebrate Bik Zan's life will be held at 3:33 pm on Sunday April 19, 2026 at Smith and Kernke N. May Ave Chapel (14624 N. May Ave. OKC, OK). In lieu of floral tributes, please consider performing a random act of kindness in Bik Zan's memory.
