Bobbie Manning Parsons

Our precious Bobbie left this world on February 22, 2020 at her home with her daughters by her side. She was born in Waco, Texas on January 22, 1930, the only child of Claude and Lorraine Manning. Her younger years in Waco were filled with laughter, love and fun! She had an idealistic and full childhood and enjoyed recalling her many "capers". Her Waco friends from the beginning were her friends until the end. Bobbie graduated from Texas Tech University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theda Sorority. After college, she became a second grade teacher and taught many years. She married Jack Hinson in 1952. They had two daughters. While Jack was enrolled at the University of Texas, Bobbie was a finalist in the Mrs. Texas University pageant. She was always our beauty queen. Jack and Bobbie later divorced. Moving to Oklahoma City in 1971 she made many more lifelong friends. Tuesdays and Wednesdays always found Bobbie in the lady's locker room at Quail Creek Country Club around the card table playing Bouree'. Of course if one of her daughters called while Bobbie was playing, she would tell them she was "working". She was also an amazing and gifted artist, her paintings will keep her memory alive. In the 80's she began a career in interior design, which she loved. She was a proud and independent woman, always impeccably dressed. She gave 100[%] and always strived for others to do the same. All who knew Bobbie will also remember her laugh, her jokes (of which she could never deliver the punch line!) and her special sass and playful spirit. We know she's got a game of Bouree' going up above. Her examples of tenacity, playfulness and love will forever be cherished by her family.Bobbie is survived by daughters, Lori Whitton (Don) and Claudia Bennett; grandsons, Tyler Hull (Michelle) and Cameron Bennett; great-grandchildren, Gabe and Aubrey Hull; and "special daughter" Catrina Hinson Riley and family of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Special thanks to Physicians Choice Hospice and dear caregivers, Christy, Jean, Amy, Wanitha, Tamera and Trenda. Mom, trying to put into words the love and respect you had for your family and that we have for you is impossible. Just know we're going to be okay. In memory of Bobbie she would love for you to make someone happy, help someone in need and pay it forward with kindness.
