Mary "Bridget" CullenOct. 6, 1955 - March 31, 2020Bridget was born in Des Moines, IA to Mary Ellen Coughlon Cullen and Terrence Cullen. Bridget had Down's Syndrome, attended Special Ed. Classes in Des Moines and Lincoln, NE, and graduated from the Lincoln High School Special Education Program in 1975.She began swimming at age 8 in Lincoln, NE. She participated in the Oklahoma Special Olympics program until 1995 and accumulated 23 gold and silver medals, earning a gold medal in the 50 meter backstroke in the 1987 International Special Olympics held at Notre Dame Univ., South Bend, Indiana.Bridget is survived by her parents, Mary Ellen and Terry; brother, Kevin (Michele) and numerous cousins.Mary Ellen and Terry wish to thank The Center of Family Love, especially the staff of Loosen Hall, for their love, patience, and compassion.Contributions can be given to The Center of Family Love, Okarche, OK, or St. Eugene Catholic Church, Oklahoma City, OK.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Eugene Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Friday, June 5, 2020 with inurnment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
