Carletta Simon

Carletta Razook Simon, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister, fell asleep in the Lord on February 14, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 12, 1928 to Henry E. and Florine Cohlmia Razook and was the eldest of three children. She grew up in Fairview, Oklahoma where she was educated and assisted her parents in their shoe store. She married the love of her life and husband of sixty-seven years, Dr. Ralph Simon, in October of 1950, thus beginning their wonderful life in Clinton, Oklahoma. She was a strong, faithful Christian, a devoted philanthropist and a dedicated homemaker. She was deeply involved with her six children and their many activities early in life, and later in life with their children. She was an outstanding citizen of Clinton, spending much of her time volunteering and serving others in town. In 2014, she and Dr. Ralph moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to their children. Her home was always open to family and friends, whom she loved serving her delicious Lebanese cuisine.

She is survived by her six children, Sally Simon, Susan and Dr. Edward Harroz, Jr., Ralph II “Si” and Sherri Simon, Sydney Simon and Dr. G.A. Razook, Stacy and Ned Shadid, Shelly and Christopher Demetree. She is survived by her 10 grandchildren, Dr. Edward III and Jessica Harroz, Leah Harroz, Andrew Ralph Harroz and his fiancé Carla Zerriny, Ralph III “Simon” and Natalie Simon, Kathryn and Jarrad McMillan, Adele and Mark Crawford, Ned Jr. and Lindsey Shadid, Dr. Carletta “Carlee” Demetree, Christopher Jr. and Margaret Demetree, and Claire Demetree. She is survived by her 17 great-grandchildren Gia, Nyssa and Edward IV “Edison” Harroz, Sienna and Sloane Simon, Gunner and Halsey McMillan, Nicholas, Luke and Vivian Crawford, Eloise and Evelyn Shadid, Luke and Molly Newcomb, and Reina, Christopher III and Benjamin Demetree. She is survived by her siblings, Kay Razook Grace and Jack and Maureen Razook. She is also survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Ralph Simon; her parents, Henry E. and Florine Razook and her brother-in-law Marvin Grace; and her in-laws, Najeeb and Adele Simon and their children and spouses Sam and Jeanne Simon, Smye and M.A. “Dick” Farha, Sally and Cecil Saied, Ernest and Bernell Simon, Dr. Floyd and Elsie Simon, Mitchell and Mary Simon.

   May her memory be eternal.
