Carlos "Abuelo" Ayala

Carlos "Abuelo" Ayala went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 7, 2020. He was born on November 26, 1944, in Bogota, Colombia. Carlos was one of seven children born to Belisario Ayala and Cecilia Mazuera. Carlos is survived by six remaining siblings Arturo Ayala, Cielo Marques, Manuel Ayala, Teresa DeMelo, Wilma Orozco and Adriana Nieto.Carlos moved to the United States at the age of 19. He met Nyrma Arbelaez in Los Angeles, California. They were married on August 13, 1966, and were happily married for 54 years. Carlos worked for General Motors for 25 years, fifteen of those years in California, and later the family made a transfer to Oklahoma where he worked for another 10 years before retiring. They have four wonderful children, Winston Ayala and wife Trista of McAllen, TX; DeBray Ayala and wife Shawna of Oklahoma City, OK; Yuniva Urell and husband Rob of Del City, OK; and Brady Ayala and wife Angie of Edmond, OK. They have seven precious grandchildren: Brayden Ayala, London Ayala, Addyson Ayala, Irelynn Ayala, Cason Ayala, Tanner Tredaway and Tayten Tredaway. His favorite hobby was tinkering with his tools and "cleaning" the garage. Carlos enjoyed playing dominos and chess with friends at The Center. Abuelo was always the life of the party and dancing every chance he got. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing with his family. He loved watching his grandkids excel in all activities and sports. Carlos was an exceptional soccer player, but most of all enjoyed coaching his own children and watching them succeed. His absolute favorite joy was his family. Carlos will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.Please join in the celebration of Carlos' life on Friday, November 13, 2020. The mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church. Masks will be mandatory at the request of the family and the church.
