Carol Janice Burr

Carol Janice Burr passed away peacefully on Sunday April 30, 2023. Carol was born in Guthrie, OK, on Dec. 28, 1930, to James and Lorena Longpine. She graduated from Guthrie High School in 1948 and attended the Oklahoma College for Women (USAO) in Chickasha, OK, graduating in 1952 with a degree in Music Education. She married Albert Burr on June 6, 1953.Carol worked as a teacher at various schools before retiring from the OKC Public School system and then worked at Reserve National Insurance Company, working full time until she turned 80 years old.Carol enjoyed taking cruises with her church friends and spending time with her granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren.Carol was preceded in death by husband Albert Burr, parents, and sister, Helen Blackstone.She is survived by 3 children, Barbara Burr, Earl Burr, and Donna Harjo (Woodrow), 2 granddaughters, Sarah McCubbin and Lauren Belvin (Steven), 3 great grandchildren Kingston and McKayla Belvin and Sloane McCubbin, 2 nephews, Edward and Brian Burr (Amanda), 2 great nephews, Alex and Benjamin Burr and 1 niece, Jo Anne Blackstone.Prayer services Wednesday May 3, 2023, 5:00 P.M. at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 North May Ave, Oklahoma City, OklahomaMass of Christian Burial, Thursday May 4 11:00 A.M. at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 2400 W. Hefner Rd. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with interment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7500 W. Britton Rd. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
