Cecil Ray Calicott

Cecil Ray Callicott was born on July 7, 1935, in Foreman, Arkansas to Wallace and Decora (McCandless) Callicott. He passed away on November 25, 2023.  Cecil was the youngest of eight children.  He grew up fishing, swimming and catching frogs.  He was a talented athlete and played football throughout junior high and high school. At the age of 18, he joined the USAF.  He completed training at the aircraft mechanic school in Wichita Falls and then was stationed at Parks AFB in California.  He was later stationed in Alaska for two years where he honed his craft.  After the Air Force, he moved to California to be near his beloved sister, Vera. He went on to work for McDonald Douglas Aircraft and would later meet his wife, Mimi.  They married in 1961.  They would relocate to Oklahoma City to help take care of his mother and would later make their home in Choctaw, OK where they would raise their four children.  Cecil graduated from Oklahoma City University with a degree in accounting.  He worked as an auditor for the state parks service and would later go on to work at Tinker Air Force Base where he was chief of accounting and payroll.  Cecil had a green thumb and enjoyed organic gardening.   Cecil was an excellent carpenter and was also good at fixing just about anything.  He also volunteered for a while with Habitat for Humanity.  He enjoyed golfing, traveling and history.

Cecil is survived by daughter Darla Callicott of Yukon, daughter Donna and son-in law Abhi Razdan of Edmond, son Ray and daughter in law Anna and their children Tatum and Chastity of Edmond, grandson Zackary Frantz of Choctaw, sister Vernita Jordan of OKC and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers A.W. and Dorsey, sisters Annie and Vera, wife Mimi and daughter Denise.

The family would like to recognize Anna, Amber, Zackary, Kelly and Kham for being a wonderful team and managing Dad's care. And to Dad's honorary daughter Kat Ryals: Your three years of selfless care and companionship will never be forgotten.  We will be forever grateful.
