Cecile Lamar Elliott

Cecile Lamar Elliott, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, in Sherwood, Arkansas, at the age of 99. Born on November 28, 1925, in Watonga, Oklahoma, she was a vibrant presence in the lives of those who knew her.

Cecile was a proud graduate of Classen High School in Oklahoma City and furthered her education at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Throughout her life, she remained a committed and active member of her community, including her involvement with the National Junior Honor Society and the Gama Zeta Chapter of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. In addition, she was a cherished member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, where her spirit and dedication to her faith made a lasting impact.

An avid lover of ballroom dancing, Cecile brought joy and elegance to the dance floor, sharing her passion with friends and family alike.

Cecile was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey P. Coon and Doris Faye Galeener; her husband, Clifford L. Elliott Sr.; and her grandson, Eric A. Scott. She is survived by her son, Steven (Cheryl) Scott; step-sons Cliff (Barbara) and Bill (Tina) Elliott; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and an incredible legacy comprising thirteen great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held for Cecile on August 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 23rd St - Smith & Kernke Funerals, located at 1401 NW 23rd St, Oklahoma City, OK. A graveside service will follow on August 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Watonga IOOF Cemetery.
