Charles Roger Brown, 75, passed away June 20, 2025, at his home in Kansas City, MO. He was born in Oklahoma City on August 11, 1949, the son of Charles Elden and Carolyn Brown. Charlie graduated from John Marshall high School and completed a semester at the University of Oklahoma before enlisting in the Air Force on October 2, 1969. After basic training, he was commissioned for a tour in Vietnam and stationed at Bien Hoa Air Force Base until he was honorably discharged on April 25, 1971. After being discharged, he returned to Oklahoma City and completed his education at Oklahoma City University.
Charlie married Charlotte Kay Vick on July 6, 1972, and later had a beautiful baby girl, Christen Carol. He was an avid sports fan, especially golf and both OU and the Kansas City Chiefs football.
Charlie is survived by his wife of just two weeks shy of 53 years, Charlotte; daughter Christen Marshall and her husband, Michael; and two grandchildren who fondly referred to him as “Opa”, Lillian Elizabeth Marshall and Andrew James Marshall. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Yvonne White, her husband Raymond, niece Jennifer and her son Shane, and niece Rebecca, her husband Michael, and their daughter Elyse.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Entombment, with Air Force Honors, will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Patio Mausoleum.
