Charlotte Sue Anderson

Charlotte Anderson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long battle with dementia. She was born on August 2, 1949, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Nadine and Ferris Anderson. A proud graduate of Norman High School in 1967, Charlotte later earned her associate's degree in art from Lubbock Christian College.

In her 44 years of marriage to her devoted husband, Brad Anderson, Charlotte embraced her role as a mother to their four children: Michael and Shannon, and daughters Tammy and Tristy. She relished her position as a grandmother to twelve grandchildren and cherished the joy of becoming a great-grandmother.

As an active member of Oakdale Baptist Church, serving her community was a fundamental part of Charlotte's life. Her dedication extended to the Oklahoma Restaurant Association and the Putnam City Schools PTA, where her contributions were officially recognized with the Golden Apple Award in December 1988, honoring her commitment to her children's education. Charlotte worked for many years as a Marketing Specialist at Wm E Davis and Sons, a food service distributor in Oklahoma City, which later became US Foods.

She expressed her creativity through her passion for cooking, baking, traveling, and gardening. She loved exploring new cultures and places, having traveled to countries such as China, Russia, Portugal, France, Italy, Ireland, and Germany. A firm believer in the joy of cooking for others, she often quipped that calories didn’t count when it came to sharing meals with loved ones.

Her friends and family knew Charlotte as a go-getter who tackled any challenge without excuses. She was notably active in supporting her daughters throughout their schooling, demonstrating her commitment and generosity.

Charlotte will always be remembered for her generous spirit, unwavering dedication, and hard work. A celebration of her life will take place at Oakdale Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 29, at 10:00 am.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her father, Ferris Anderson, and mother, Nadine Sloan. Charlotte is survived by her husband, Bradley K. Anderson; her sisters Cheryl Jeffries and Christy Taylor, brother, Harry Anderson, her daughter, Tammy S. Jensen, and husband, John, with their children Mack and wife Caitlin, Malcolm and wife Kegan, and Hannah Grace, along with great-grandson Miles; her daughter, Tristy S. Fryer, and husband, Kirk, with their daughters Kami Fryer and Ella Fryer; her son, Shannon Anderson, and wife, Amber, with their children Jenna, Zoe, and Riley; and her son, Michael Anderson, and wife, Shannon, with their children Shelby, Christopher, Brayden, and Avery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Wings, A Special Needs Community, in her memory.
