Christine Lula Groshong

Christine finished her battle with a rare form of cancer on September 9th, 2021 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and her pups.Christine Lula (Alzen) Groshong was born December 4th, 1959 in Deer River, Minnesota to Donald Harold and Esther Carol Alzen. Christine and Tom Groshong were married on September 5th, 1980 and just recently celebrated their 41st Wedding Anniversary September 5th, 2021.Christine worked for The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) as the Carpentry and Paint Department Manager. She was very proud to tirelessly set up and work most graduations. She also thoroughly enjoyed & took great pride in mentoring foreign students in her field.During her 30 year career, she volunteered and donated to The United Way, especially programs which helped provide to women and children. She helped organize and rallied participation in The Oklahoma Blood Institutes Blood Drives at UCO and had some of the most successful drives in Edmond. Christine was a graduate of the President's 2nd Leadership Program. She is very proud of being Knighted at Northwest Classen High school for her planning and implementing a volunteer renovation of the front lobby, the auditorium, and the student lunch & garden areas.Christine was a confirmed lifetime member of The Lutheran Church.Christine's generosity knew no bounds. She was a devoted mother, loving wife, and wonderful grandmother who was always thinking of others. She left her family & friends with a full heart enriched by Honest Service, Love, Sacrifice, and Courage. Christine will be deeply missed by all that knew her.Christine wanted to thank all family members for all of the Love and Joy they brought her.Per Christine's wishes, there will be no memorial service."Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received… But only what you have given.
