Cindy Rae Chasteen, born March 11, 1957, in Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in Jones, Oklahoma. She was the beloved daughter of Ray and Marian Davis, who preceded her in death. Cindy was the devoted wife of Christopher Thurman Chasteen for 46 years, a marriage rooted in faith, loyalty, and enduring love. She was a proud and loving mother to Cammi Dawn Branch and her husband Julian and Scott Chasteen and his wife Nicole, and a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren who were a constant source of joy in her life.
She is also survived by her siblings, Lillian Moon and Larry and Carrie Jean Davis, along with extended family members and dear friends.
For 35 years, Cindy served as a dedicated Elementary School and Sunday School teacher. She approached education as both a profession and a calling, nurturing young learners with patience, compassion, and encouragement that left a lasting impact on generations.
Cindy was an avid sports fan and a lover of the outdoors. She cheered passionately for the OU Sooners and the OKC Thunder, embracing every game with enthusiasm and joy.
Above all, Cindy loved Christ throughout her life. Her faith guided her actions, strengthened her relationships, and shaped the legacy she leaves behind. She will be remembered for her servant’s heart, her gentle strength, and her deep devotion to family and community.
Her legacy lives on through the many lives she influenced as a faithful wife, loving mother and grandmother, devoted sister, passionate educator, and steadfast follower of Christ.
