Cora Maxine "Maxine" Alfonso

Cora Maxine Alfonso, 83, of Bethany Oklahoma, died on July 20, 2021. Maxine was born to Jettie Rose Colvin-Atwell in OKC and raised in the Tulsa area by her parents, Jettie and Eugene Atwell. At 17 years old, she was working at the Pines Restaurant where she met Alfred, her husband of 62 years. Maxine and Alfred built a home and life built on loyalty and forgiveness. She will be remembered for her perseverance, unselfishness, and unrivaled cooking skills. Her husband, parents, sister, Carolyn Ellison and brother, Charles Atwell preceded her in death. She is survived by her 3 children, Anthony Alfonso, and wife Alison and their son, Mathew Robertson; Justina Alfonso, and her daughter, Christina Alfonso; Todd Alfonso, and his wife, Sophia and their 4 children, Jessica Thompson and husband, Mathew Thompson, Christopher Alfonso, Emily Alfonso, and Ethan Alfonso. She is also survived by her 3 great grandchildren, Jude, Jonah, and Jensen Thompson; sister, Jan Culver and husband, Jim Culver; niece Sheila Cooper and husband, Kevin Cooper and their daughter, Abigail Cooper. A heartfelt thank you from the family to her daughter in law, Sophia, and son Todd, who cared for Maxine in their home allowing her to be around family until her death. Services to celebrate Maxine will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 2, 2021, at the Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel.
