David was born on October 3, 1958 at Southside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA the youngest child of Joseph Michael Dyda and Anna Victoria (Olewska aka Oleska) Dyda who made their family home in Bethel Park, PA.

David loved everything mechanical, enjoyed playing his saxophone, and loved listening to music. David attended St. Anne Catholic School.  He graduated from Bethel Park Senior High School, Bethel Park, PA on June 7, 1976. On July 6, 1976, he began his studies at Rosedale Technical Institute, Pittsburgh, PA. On December 23, 1977, he received a diploma in Automotive and Diesel Technology from Rosedale Technical Institute. He also received a variety of certifications from the Community College of Allegheny County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation.

During his career, he worked for various small businesses, corporations, dealerships and automotive centers in Bethel Park/Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Edmond, Oklahoma. On February 3, 1979, David married Carol Catanzaro at St. Anne Catholic Church, Mt. Lebanon, PA thereafter becoming the proud Father of Andrea Lynn Dyda and Joseph Richard Dyda.

David was a member of the Knights of Columbus. The Family resided in Bethel Park, PA, Edmond, OK. then Bethel Park, PA. David and Carol divorced in 1991. In November, 2019, David decided to join his Mother, Sister Marilyn and Brother in Law, James, in Oklahoma City, OK.

In July, 2020, David became a victim of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic leading to his hospitalization with intense recovery struggles in isolated environments. On September 16, 2020, David suffered cardiac arrest, was revived, and taken to the emergency room of St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, OK.  Mark Gregory, M.D. worked to save his life while Fr. Mark E. Mason, Pastor of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, stood by in the ER to pray for and with David. Dr. Gregory called Marilyn immediately after David’s passing to ask her how she knew of his imminent death and whether David had a close relationship with her. From the day David was born, Marilyn shared a close relationship with him.  Fr. Mason called to inform Marilyn that he had anointed David with the oil of the dying and commended his Soul to God. Angels truly watched over David on September 16, as they had done throughout his life. His Catholic faith always helped him through life as he carried his Cross. Fr. Jerome Dunn, OFM Cap., Province of St. Augustine, Rev. Joseph B. Codori, Jr., St. Thomas More Catholic Church and Fr. Mason helped David with his Cross.
