Diane Dee Devine

Born September 28th, 1943 in Los Angeles, California in the Queen of Angels hospital to Dorothy and Dan Bowers.

Diane had a lot going on during her life, her dad passed away when she was a baby. She was raised by her mom and “bonus dad”, Ed Bowers, who was the best loving and caring dad anyone could ever have. Diane loved him so much! She loved to sing so much, that she even did so with bands the majority of her life. When the children were young, Diane, being the tom-boy she was, would play ball with the children, climb trees, dig in the dirt and so much more. She enjoyed her kids a lot. For many years, Diane worked with her husband Dr. James P. Devine. They were best friends, always together and never tired of each other. When Dr. Devine retired, Diane wasn’t ready, so she went to work for the Walmart Neighborhood Market working in the money center and Customer Service center. She would get on the intercom at work and sing happy birthday to you if it was your birthday! Wherever Diane was, there was music. Whether it be from Diane’s beautiful singing or playing music on the radio, there was always music. Diane was forced to retire from Walmart after 18 years of service due to her health. At 82 years old, Diane’s health was declining. Her youngest son, Jimmy took care of her until the end.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James P. Devine, mother, Dorothy Bowers, her bonus dad, George Ed Bowers, daughter, Lori Devine, son, Chris Devine, brother, Dan Bowers, sister, Donna Prather and brother-in-law, Lowell Prather, and a grandson, Brandon Mach.

Survivors are her children, David Mach, Shaun and Allie Mach, Dustin Mach and Jimmy Devine, and sister, Joyce McCauley, grandchildren, Chris Roeseler, Emily and Zach Harris, Sara Mach, Ryan and Makyla Mach, Kennedy Mach, Kaylee Mach, Tyler Mach, Garrett Mach, Liam Mach, Rain Mach, and Maximus Mach, great grand-children; Zachary Rayner, Hailey Harris and Cassius Mach, and many, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She will be missed.
