Dorothy Elizabeth Willis

Dorothy Willis, of Oklahoma City left us peacefully on March 16, 2010. Born December 2, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dorothy was active in the Lutheran Church throughout her life. She met her husband of 61 years, Paul D. Willis, on a blind date while he was in the Air Force stationed in Washington D.C. It took only three dates before both Paul and Dorothy knew they were a match made in heaven, so they were married in Philadelphia in January 1949. Thus began their life adventure that took them from the badlands of Wyoming to south Texas before they finally settled in Oklahoma. Along the way, Dorothy's love of music led her to forty years of membership in church choirs wherever they resided. Dorothy also enjoyed tremendous success as an executive secretary, first for Judge Hofheinz in Houston, Texas, and at a myriad of other successful enterprises. Her volunteerism and devotion as a wife and mother is evidenced by terms as PTA president at her children's elementary school, den mother for scouting, and political campaigns. In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by her sister Wilma Wilt of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, her daughter Sarah Richardson of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, her son Geoff Willis of Jones, Oklahoma, and her grandsons Michael and William Richardson and Nathan and Jake Willis.
