With deep love and sorrow, we celebrate the life of Dr. Charles Lee Roskamp, a devoted follower of Christ, who departed this world to be with his Savior on December 25th, 2025, at the age of 74.
Charles was born on March 11, 1951, in Odessa, Texas to Kathleen and Carlton Roskamp. He grew up with his brother, Stephen and his sister, Jena in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He graduated from Sooner High in 1969 and then went on to Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Zoology in 1973. After college he was accepted into dental school at the University of Oklahoma where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1977.
He met his wife, Lana Mitchell, through a blind date in the fall of 1981 and they married June 26, 1982. They made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma where they welcomed two daughters, Natalie and Meredith. Faith and family were Charlie's greatest priorities, followed closely by his love for his patients and his service to the community through dentistry. Before he passed, he told his family that he was blessed to love his work and would do it all over again. When he wasn't at the office, you could find him at home with his family, at the golf course, playing the piano or traveling. His faith in Jesus was at the center of everything he did. He loved singing in the choir and was a faithful member of Redeemer Covenant Church for over 30 years.
His favorite title came in 2011 when his first grandchild was born, and he became known as Pop Pop. He and Lana have been a constant presence in the lives of their seven grandchildren. After retirement in 2021, they moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to be closer to their daughters and their families. At that point in his life, he could be found at soccer fields, football fields and numerous birthday parties. He was everyone's biggest supporter and could always keep his grandchildren laughing.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Kathleen, and his brother, Stephen. He is survived by his beloved wife Lana; his daughter Natalie and her children Charlie, Hudson, Emerson, and Brooks; his daughter Meredith and her husband Skylar, and their children Benjamin, Samuel, and Josiah; his sister, Jena and her husband David, and many nieces, nephews and extended family who loved him dearly. Family was at the center of his life, and he will be remembered for his steady presence, wisdom and quiet strength. His love and influence will continue through the lives of his family.
A memorial will be held on January 3rd, 2025, at Redeemer Covenant Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local law enforcement or fire department.
