Earlene Everson King died peacefully at home on January 15, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. She was born to Otto and Ada Everson on August 15, 1931, in Quanah, Texas. She married J.H. King on March 5, 1949. Earlene and J. were parents of two children, Deborah Dougherty (husband, Bill) of Crescent, OK and Johnny Wayne King, deceased (wife, Connie) of Centennial, CO. Earlene is survived by her daughter, Debbie; five grandchildren, Colby Dougherty of Crescent, Brandon Dougherty (wife, Jamie) of Edmond, Michael King (wife, Erin) of Denver, Brian King of Denver, and Emily Stamatis (husband, David) of Denver; eight great-grandchildren include Cadence and Mahala Dougherty, Colin and Max Malchow (Dougherty), Bridget and Isla King, Johnny and Poppy Stamatis; her sister, Charlene Roland of Sherman, TX; and many nephews and other children who called her Mrs. King, Grandma King, and Great. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. King; son, Johnny Wayne King; her brother, Lloyd (Buddy) Everson; and her sister, Dona Pierce. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your consideration of donations to The Assistance Fund, 4700 Millenia Blvd., Suite 410, Orlando, FL 32839. (855) 845-3663. The Assistance Fund is a 501 (c) (3) organization that helps patients and families facing high medical, out of pocket costs, by providing assistance for multiple illnesses.
