Francesca Druley Garner passed away in peace to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Oklahoma City. She was born on May 16, 1936, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Ruth Flood Druley and L. Morton Druley. She was preceded in death by her husband, George William (Bill) Garner. They lived and raised their family in Enid, Oklahoma for 56 years.
She is survived by two daughters, GiGi Faulkner and Alexa Woodson, both of Oklahoma City: GiGi’s family: husband, Clyde Faulkner, son & daughter in law, Trevor and Kristy Hayes and their daughters, Samantha and Addison. Alexa’s family: husband Mark Woodson, and son & daughter in law, Ben and Meridith Woodson and their sons, Lukah, Elias, & Noah, son and daughter in law Jake and Lana Woodson, and daughter, Adria Woodson. She is also survived by her sister, Hilary Cooley, of Kansas City and her children, Chad, Casey, Kim, and Carrie Cooley.
After graduating from Ponca City High School, she entered Oklahoma State University in 1954, joining Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. It was there that she met the love of her life, Bill, outside the Sigma Chi House, where he was a member. The often-told story tells that this chance meeting had something to do with “borrowing” a cake from the fraternity and being caught by Bill. Ever persistent, after two requests for a coke date, Francesca said yes, and the rest is a beautiful story of family and love.
They married on June 17, 1955, and made their home in Enid, Oklahoma, where Bill operated Garner real estate and insurance agency and Francesca made a beautiful home for her family. She was active with her Kappa Alumnae and served the First Methodist Church for many years on the Altar Guild, faithful to ensure that candles, hymnals, and fresh flowers were ready for Sunday church services. She was active for many years in accompanying her mother on clothes buying trips for her women’s ready-to-wear store in Ponca City and Arkansas City, Kansas.
She and Bill enjoyed a group of close friends in Enid, enjoying trips to Portugal, Rome, and Brussels with them.
Francesca was devoted to her family, hence her often quoted statement, “Family is everything.” She leaves us with a legacy of dedication and love.
