Funeral services for Hazel Marie Wenthold, age 97, of Oklahoma City will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 800 NW 5th Street, Moore, OK 73160Rosary at 6:00 PM, Friday, January 27th, 2023 at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home 1401 NW 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73106.Hazel peacefully passed away January 24th, 2023 with many family members by her side. She was born October 25th, 1925 in Burns Flat, Oklahoma to Ira and Anna Tole. Hazel and her husband of sixty-five years Ralph Wenthold were married in Canute on March 20th of 1945 when he returned from the Battle of the Bulge wounded and frost bitten.She was very devoted to her Catholic Faith and she had visited many of the Marian Apparition sites in France, Belgium and Mexico. She greatly enjoyed large family holiday gatherings. Hazel's collection of carefully curated cookbooks was one of the best in Oklahoma City.Faith guided our mother throughout her life. She showed kindness to everyone she met and thanked everyone for the smallest kindness shown to her. Her life was a true walk with Jesus.Hazel is survived by her daughters Kay Ann Miller and Michelle Barnett; sons, Michael, Matt and wife Monica, Mark and wife Diana, daughter in law Judy Wenthold and three generations of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph, son Thomas Wenthold, daughter Connie Stoudt and son-in-law Kenneth Stoudt, daughter-in-law Dena Wenthold, son-in-law Charles Lee Miller and grandson Mark Allen Stoudt.
