Jacqueline Tack

Jacqueline Ann Yaggy Tack, passed away on July 24, 2023, surrounded by family. Jackie was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 13, 1927. Jackie was a beloved mother, homemaker, and a life-long learner. Jackie attended Wichita State University where she met her future husband, James D. Tack, and received her teaching certificate. They were married for 60 years during which she raised 4 children, was a homemaker, and lived in many states, wherever Jim's work took them. Jackie and Jim were quite the pair as they were both loved to learn, read, and travel. They were always the best dressed couple in the room. Wherever she lived she made lifelong friends and entertained them with her exquisite cooking and robust knowledge and intellect. She continued to be an avid reader even into her final years. She loved classical music and opera and had great knowledge of both. Jackie was known for her cooking and would always have dessert on hand. She was preceded in death by her husband James D. Tack, Sr. and great granddaughter Emma Hawkins, and survived by two sons John and Jim Jr. (Ginnie), two daughters, Sara Tack Eidy (Gene) and Jill Ponce (Tim), two granddaughters Madelaine Hawkins (Mike), Meredith O'Neil (Patrick), and four great grandchildren Eleanor Grace and Whittaker Dean Hawkins, Arthur Tack and Llewyn Ross O'Neil, nieces and nephew and numerous friends. The Order of the Burial of the Dead will be held July 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of St. Mary at All Souls' Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Tulsa Opera, as Jackie loved to attend the opera.
