James Patrick Fletcher

Patrick was born on March 12, 1968, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Robert Arthur Fletcher and Betty Klaffke Fletcher.

Patrick, age 58, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, following a courageous effort to overcome a tragic farming accident.

Patrick was a lifelong Oklahoma State Cowboy fan. This passion led to many great memories with his children and family as they cheered, rather loudly, all across the country for both the football and basketball teams.

Following in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps, his other passion was the cattle industry. Following high school, Patrick immediately entered the cattle and farming industry, to which he would devote the majority of his career.

Patrick wore his heart on his sleeve and was always the first person to offer help to others in need, even people he did not know. He embodied a truly magnanimous spirit throughout his entire life, a grace and generosity that remained steadfast all the way to his passing. Furthermore, this was reflected in his deep faith in the Catholic Church and his dedication to attending weekly Mass with his mother.

Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Robert. He is survived by his mother, Betty; his children, James Patrick Fletcher II (and wife, Katherine) and Margaret Fletcher, and their mother, Melissa Ward; his brother, Ken Fletcher; his brother Roy Fletcher and wife Suzanna, and their children, Kate and John Robert; and his dog, Bo.

There will be a small, intimate family gathering to honor Patrick’s life.

Flowers can be sent to Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73134
