John Michael Harnsberger

John Michael Harnsberger passed away February 21, 2023 at the age of 66, after a short battle with cancer. Mike was born August 21, 1956 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He grew up in Oklahoma City and the Ardmore area, graduating from Dickson High School in 1974.He graduated from OSU-OKC with an Electronics Technology degree in 1989. Soon afterward, he went to work for the FAA where he enjoyed his job sharing his knowledge of Instrument Landing Systems as a technician and instructor. He retired from the FAA after 30 years of service.Mike enjoyed driving and working on his Model A and tinkering with anything mechanical, woodworking using old methods and tools, cooking and eating unusual and healthful foods, and hiking and spending time outdoors.The magnitude of his intelligence was something to behold and was nothing short of sheer genius!Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Marjorie Harnsberger, and his son, Ricky Harnsberger. He is survived by his wife, Mitra, his sons, Henry Royka and Joshua Royka (Jade), and his granddaughters, Aubrey and Lily. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy McClendon (Rick), and brother, David Harnsberger (Ronda), his nieces and nephew, his aunt, Zela Hanson, his uncle, Jack Harnsberger, and many cousins.A celebration of Mike's life will take place Saturday, March 4th at 2:00 at the family lake place in Ardmore.
