Johnathan Wayne Russell

Johnathan Wayne Russell, affectionately known as “John,” passed away on October 11, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 54, due to heart failure. Born on January 8, 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas, John lived a life filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering dedication to the people who meant the most to him.

John was truly one of a kind. Known for his larger-than-life personality and a laugh that could be heard across any room, he had a remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel welcome. He never met a stranger and could find a way to bring a smile to anyone's face. Whether through a joke, a story, or simply his presence, John had a gift for making even the most ordinary moments unforgettable. He believed in living life to the fullest and always tried to leave people and places better than he found them.

A proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, John went on to become the owner of Land Run Commercial Real Estate. His ambition, determination, and genuine care for others were reflected not only in his professional accomplishments but also in the relationships he built throughout his life. He was also involved in Leadership Oklahoma City, demonstrating his commitment to the community he called home.

Outside of his career, John found joy in life's simplest pleasures. He loved watching just about any sport, singing karaoke, sharing a good laugh, and, most importantly, surrounding himself with the people he loved. To know John was to know laughter, generosity, and a heart that had room for everyone. He had a way of making people feel special, and his presence could turn any gathering into a cherished memory.

Above all else, John was a devoted father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Maddison Russell, and his sisters, Cindy Parton and Connie Harjo. The love he shared with his family was immeasurable, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting reminder of the extraordinary man he was.

John's Christian faith was an important part of his life, and he carried with him a simple but powerful reminder: “This too shall pass.” These words, which he so often shared, reflected his ability to find strength during difficult times and offer comfort to those around him.

Although his time here was far too short, the impact John made will live on through the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered for his contagious laughter, his generous spirit, his love for his family, and his ability to make the world a little brighter simply by being in it.

While the world may feel a little quieter without his laughter, the love and joy he brought into it will never fade.

Flowers can be sent to Smith and Kernke N. May Ave.

At this time, funeral service information for John is still pending. Please check back at a later time.
