Julia Hoehner

Julia Hoehner, 83, passed away June 13, 2025, in Humble, Tx. She was born June 18, 1941, in Sterling, IL, to Harold and Eunice Eckel. Her loving Husband, Norbert; four older brothers, Donald, David, Jim and Bob Eckel; preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons: Andrew (wife, Kathy), Matthew (friend, Gil), Jeffrey (wife, Meredith) and daughter, Mary Ann Hill (husband, Leoatis); 5 grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Julia was raised in Wynnewood, OK, where she graduated High school and then entered Nursing School. She worked as an orthopedic surgical nurse at Bone & Joint Hospital in Oklahoma City until leaving to raise her family. After her husband’s passing in 1980 Julia provided a loving home where she raised her four children. Later in life she returned to work as a Rehab Therapist at Bone & Joint Hospital.

Julia enjoyed spending time with family and friends, meeting new people and brought a smile to the faces of those she encountered. We would like to thank all of the nurses and care workers from Bayou City Hospice, especially Joy and Sheena who cared for mom in her final days.

The Evening Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, June 20 at Smith and Kernke North May Chapel, and the Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Saturday, June 21, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish in Oklahoma City, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
