Julian Knight Codding

Born and raised on a large family ranch in Osage County, Oklahoma. Julian often referred to himself as a true cowboy who loved "ridin' and ropin." Growing up on the tall grass plains, Julian loved being out in the Oklahoma wind watching as it made waves across the prairie and blue stem which evolved into his love for sailing.

A man of many accomplishments and business successes, he was also an avid reader, wanting to read every single book that had ever been written and a writer of poems, short stories, books and one award winning play. He was also a pilot and cherished his days as a pilot for Angel Flights.

He loved mountains, the sea, naps on Sunday afternoons, brownies with ice cream and his love for dogs and horses knew no bounds.

Julian and his wife of fifty-three years, Anne, met in college and resided in the Oklahoma City/Edmond area. They raised four children: Don Codding and wife, Sydney, Amanda Abel and late husband, Mark Abel, Chris Codding and wife, Ashley, and Nick Codding and wife, Lauren. His love grew with his eleven grandchildren who were always in his daily prayers.

He is survived by his sister, Christine Codding, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Helen Joe Codding, and sister, Catherine Coke.

Always a gentleman and private person, he was known for his honesty and high sense of ethics.

"Never forget to do the right thing - everything else will take care of itself."

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00am Friday, September 18, 2026, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, (2400 W. Hefner Rd. The Village, OK) with burial at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery (7500 West Britton Rd. Oklahoma City, OK) to immediately follow.
