Katherine Agnes Jackson

Katherine Agnes Jackson, affectionately known as Kathe, born on May 3, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away with her children by her side on August 26, 2025, in her hometown. She was a bright light to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, strong values, and cherished memories.

Kathe had a distinguished career that spanned several years, working at The Boeing Company and Rosary Catholic School, where she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her professional life. Her academic pursuits were equally impressive; she earned a Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and another in Psychology, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Oklahoma State University. Her dedication to education and personal growth exemplified her belief in the importance of learning throughout life.

A fiercely independent spirit, Kathe was known for her loving nature and spirited personality. She was feisty, stubborn, and opinionated—qualities that her family and friends adored. She had a great sense of humor that could lighten any room, and her warmth drew people to her effortlessly. Spending time with her family was her true calling, and she took immense pride in speaking about her grandsons, George, William, and Calvin, whom she loved dearly.

Kathe was not just a dedicated professional and loving family member; she was also a passionate sports fan. She was a diehard Oklahoma State University fan and enjoyed watching Thunder games. Whether it was sharing stories about her beloved dog, Kevin Durant, relishing ice cream and Diet Dr Pepper, or indulging in her love for shopping at Target, her interests reflected her vivacious personality. She found joy in reading, often losing herself in a good book, and she cherished outings to lunch, especially while supporting her grandsons at their sporting events and activities. Her travels to New York to visit her son, daughter-in-law, and newest grandson were moments she particularly treasured.

Kathe's life achievements were noteworthy; she was honored as a St. Monica Woman of Achievement and was known as the best bingo caller ever. Her ability to connect with people made her an integral part of her community and left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

She is lovingly remembered by her family, including her daughter, Amy Frame; son, David Jackson; son-in-law, David Frame; daughter-in-law, Susan Jackson; and her siblings, Susan Steele and brother-in-law, Larry Steele. Her beloved nieces, Tammy Smith, Jennifer Merrick, Cindy Maness, Anna Steele, and many great-nieces and nephews also carry on her legacy. Close friends Julie and Michael Isch will remember her fondly, as will all those whose lives she touched.

Kathe was preceded in death by her parents, Vere McKinnon Jr. and Doris McKinnon; her sister, Lynn McKinnon; and her nephew, Duke Maness.

In honoring her life, family and friends are invited to a Prayer Service on August 28, 2025, at May Ave - Smith & Kernke Funeral Homes & Crematory, followed by a Mass on August 29, 2025, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, and her burial at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery thereafter.

Katherine Agnes Jackson will be deeply missed, but her spirit, strength, and endless love for her family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
