Katherine "Kitty" Lee

Katherine “Kitty” Theresa Lee, 76, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born to Robert E. Lee and LaVerne L. Lee on January 3, 1949, in Minneapolis, MN. She was the middle child between Roberta and Robert.

Kitty spent her childhood in Minnesota before her family relocated to Carbondale, IL in the 60’s. Kitty graduated from Carbondale High School in 1968. Kitty spent her life devoted to her animals. Her beloved dogs include, Nicky, Pepper 1, Pepper 2, Sarah Jane, and Bobbi Jo. Her beloved turtles include Petey, Michael Jr. Jasper, AJ, and Jazz.

Kitty was happiest with her animals, those whom she adopted and those in nature, for they were all God’s creatures. She loved her family and kept her friends close. If you were her neighbor, she was your friend and she would let you know by looking after your house and bringing in your trash cans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. Lee and LaVerne L. Lee; her sister, Roberta “Bobbi Jo” J. (Lee) Johnson and spouse John R. Johnson; her brother, Robert A. Lee, many beloved puppies and turtles.

She is survived by her pets, Bobbi Jo, Michael Jr., Jasper, AJ, and Jazz; nephew, David (Molly); nieces, Dana (Chris), Shannon (Charles), RoseAnne (Tim), Rachel (Ben); great nephews, Aaron (Monica), Caleb, Jared (Tosha), Corry, Brian (Tina); great nieces, Nev (Adam), Jessica, JoAnn; great-great nephews and nieces, Rigo, Makhi, Spencer, Blake, Cameron, Atlas, Angelica, Alexis, Ruby, Jael; and many cousins all over the world.
