Kenneth Hurst

Kenneth (Ken) Hurst passed away on September 13th, 2026 at his home in Jones, Oklahoma. Ken was born in Oklahoma City on November 4th, 1955. He is survived by and will be missed by his mother, Jane Hurst, his brother, David Hurst, David’s wife Sallie, his sister Jene Huckabay and her husband Eldon, his nieces and nephews, Brian Huckabay, Jonathan Huckabay, Austin Huckabay, Rebecca Hurst and Michael Hurst, their spouses and six great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald “Jerry” Hurst.

Ken graduated from OU, specializing in photography. He took many award-winning beautiful pictures of landscapes and people.

Ken fulfilled the role of the older protective brother with ease, including at the age of 5, rescuing his 2-year-old sister from a snake and later from school bullies. As teenagers, he also rescued her from a bike wreck. The rescues continued throughout his life as he could never turn away the dogs that were abandoned near his home.

Ken will be laid to rest on September 18th at 4pm at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bella Foundation.
