Larry Rieke died on Sunday May 14, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.Larry Warren Rieke was born on March 15, 1949 to Warren and Marjorie (Henderson) Rieke of Erie, North Dakota. He graduated from Erie High School in 1967. He attended NDSU (North Dakota State University) for a year before enlisting in the US Marine Corp. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. He was very proud of his military service and of being a Marine.He met his first wife in California and they had two sons. He completed his education in California and began his career employment with the FAA. His final assignment was in Oklahoma where he retired in 2010. In 2004, he met Theresa (Terri) Peoples, converted to Catholicism, and married May 5, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They purchased a home in Taos, New Mexico and moved there permanently in 2012. They loved the New Mexico life. Health issues prompted their return to Oklahoma City in 2021.Larry is survived by his wife Theresa (Terri) Rieke; sons Jonathan and Christopher Rieke; stepson and daughter-in-law Lee Peoples and Emma Rolls, granddaughterAmelia Peoples, OKC; stepdaughter Alee Peoples and Mike Stoltz, Los Angeles, CA; sister Karen Rivers, Moorhead, MN; nephew Seth and nieces Jessica, Charlotte and Rachel. Uncles and aunts Louis and Rae Rieke and Leslie and Bethel Luck of ND. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, sister Jeanne Holden, and grandparents.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 1, 2023 at Our Lady's Cathedral at 2 pm.Burial at a later date.
