Linda B. Darnell

In loving memory of Linda B Darnell, who peacefully passed away at her home on December 22, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 1, 1938, in Oklahoma City to Francis and Crawford Bennett, Linda's life was a beautiful symphony of love, family, and joy.

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Fine Arts, Linda's passion for music, particularly the piano, was a defining feature of her early life. Her talent graced the stages of both Lyric and Mummers Theaters, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of witnessing her performances.

Yet, Linda's greatest source of fulfillment and joy came from her role as a devoted mother and grandmother. Throughout her life, she embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood with unwavering dedication. Linda raised two wonderful sons, Daniel B. Belt and John L. Belt II. Her commitment to family extended beyond her immediate household, as she cherished her role as Grandma to her grandsons, Nethaniel and Malachi.

Linda's love for her family was unparalleled, and her nurturing spirit created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Even as she pursued diverse interests like tennis and later took up flying, her heart remained firmly tethered to her role as a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son, John L. Belt II; daughter-in-law, Brandi Belt; and grandsons, Nethaniel and Malachi Belt; sister, Virginia Bennett Luscomb of La Jolla, California and stepdaughter, Donna Darnell. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Darnell; son, Daniel B. Belt; parents, Francis and Crawford Bennett and first husband, John L. Belt.

The burial is scheduled to take place at Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, December 28, at 9am.
