Lisa Marie Voegeli, 61, of Oklahoma City, passed away on March 24, 2026.
Lisa was born on October 13, 1964, in Norman, Oklahoma. She graduated from Heritage Hall in 1982 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1986. She joined Tri Delta sorority and was also a Sigma Phi Epsilon lil-sis. While pursuing her degree, Lisa traveled to Japan twice to study and perform dance.
Lisa had an accomplished career in real estate. She was a respected agent, manager, and branch broker, most notably with Kanela & Company for more than 37 years. In her own words Lisa best described her career and character, “My approach ensures timely, precise, effective, and efficient task execution, while my work ethic reflects adaptability and creativity.”
Lisa carried those values into a life of volunteerism that left a lasting mark on the lives she touched. Most notably, she championed the arts and animals. Inspired in childhood while helping her mother volunteer at the Festival of the Arts balloon station, Lisa turned that early experience into a lifelong commitment to the Festival of the Arts, ultimately serving in its highest leadership role as Festival Co-Chair. If you knew Lisa, you knew her as the one with all the Festi-bling and Festi-buttons, along with her big smile and infectious laugh. She also founded the Festi-Rita Club — a shoutout to all those volunteers who were part of that fun tradition.
Lisa also served on the board of Free to Live Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit sanctuary for stray, abandoned, and mistreated dogs and cats. Her love for animals was part of her DNA, and throughout her life she lovingly cared for many four-legged companions, especially Lola, who never left her side. Lisa was also involved with many other organizations, including the Junior League of Oklahoma City, Opening Night, and the French Heels Club.
As a proud Oklahoman and graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Lisa loved the arrival of fall, when OU football signaled a change in the weather. She also loved the Oklahoma City Thunder and was a devoted fan from the very beginning.
Lisa blessed all who were fortunate enough to call her a daughter, sister, aunt, partner, lifelong friend, or festi-friend. She leaves behind memories that will make you laugh out loud, inspire you to look more kindly upon animals in need, and remind you of a standard of volunteerism that was generous, selfless, and full of heart. Most importantly, Lisa leaves behind love. She loved her family, her friends, and the life she lived so well. As you remember her, may you think of her love, laughter, and compassion.
She is survived by her father, Bob Voegeli, and his wife, Sarah; her mother, Kanela Huff, and her late husband, Joe; her loving partner, Chris Bayouth; her brother, Rob Voegeli; her nephew, Peter Voegeli; her adopted aunts, Judy Lehmbeck, Rawsie Boyles, Connie Givens, and Sue Magness; and her beloved four-legged companion, Lola.
The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice and Lisa’s caregivers; Sandra Byrom, Mavis Hall, and Esther Williams, as well as the extended family and friends whose love and support surrounded her throughout her life’s journey.
Please join us for Lisa’s memorial Mass on Wednesday, April 15th, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
