Lois Roselle

Once upon a time, in a small farm village in South Dakota, a beautiful spirit was born. It was September 9, 1944 and her name was Lois Lorraine Abild. She grew up with music, hard work, and a love of fashion. And she grew up with a love for Christ her Savior. She attended the University of South Dakota and a few years later, life found her far from home in Oklahoma City. She worked in Governor Bartlett’s office where she met the love of her life, Joe Roselle. They were married June 6, 1970. She had three boys- Brad, Chris, and Tim. She attended OCU and received a BA in Music. She taught Young Musicians at Quail Springs Baptist Church for over 25 years. She battled Stage 4 breast cancer and won. She taught music at Eisenhower Junior High and then OCS, where she spent the next 31 years until her retirement in 2022. She was also a private piano and voice instructor. Her truest passion and ministry was her 40 years of students, showering them with discipline for the music while emanating the spirit of the Lord. Many have gone on to become musicians themselves. She became ill last Fall and fought another battle with a new cancer. She continued to teach up until two weeks before her passing when she decided bravely to enter hospice. During that time, she was cared for lovingly by friends, family, and the staff at Mercy Hospital. On July 12, 2026 she met her Lord and Savior as her body allowed her spirit to fill the seat at the table she told us all He set for her.

Waiting for her in heaven were her husband, Joe Roselle, her parents, Lyal and Ada Abild, her sisters Myrtle Ann Abild and Susan Marrinan, and her brother Orin Abild. Here on earth, she left her loving family: Brad and Susan Roselle, Chris and Christi Roselle, Tim Roselle, her seven granddaughters Mackenzie, Madison, Avery, Hannah, Destany, Quinn, and Spencer, and her great granddaughter Zoe Rose, along with her cousin, nieces and nephew. She also is survived by many dear friends, too many to list. Lois says- You know who you are and how much you mean to me, thank you friends.

Family visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday, July 23rd at Smith & Kernke on N May.

Funeral services will be 1pm on Friday, July 24th at Quail Springs Baptist Church following a private interment.
