Lucille, "Lucy" Shanbour, 85, passed away on June 10th, 2020. Lucy was married to her beloved husband Alfie for 51 years prior to his passing in 2012. She was a devoted wife and mother. It has often been said that behind every successful man is a strong woman. This is especially true with Lucy as she helped Al operate a successful food brokerage. She was a valuable source of both personal and professional advice, assistance and loving wisdom/guidance to her children throughout the various stages of their lives. She is survived by her son, David, his wife Emily and grandson, Nathan; son, Darrel; daughter, Lisa; her sister, Ruby Rahill; brother and sister-in-law, Mitch and Linda Shanbour; sister-in-law, Norma Shanbour; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Al Shanbour; sister, Angie Hazer; sister, Joann Callaway; brother-in-law, Bill Callaway; nephew, Sam Callaway; brother-in-law, Fred Shanbour; and parents, Sam and Rose Hazer.Lucy, a member of Saint Elijah Orthodox Christian Church, will always be remembered for her faith, her self-taught natural health knowledge, her welcoming home, phenomenal cooking, and most importantly her unwavering love, devotion and commitment to her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was always generous with her time and resources. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Friday, June 12 at the funeral home. Services will be held at St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church (15000 N. May Avenue) at 1 pm on Saturday, June 13, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Elijah "Flowers that Do Not Wither Fund".
