Mrs. Margaret Jean McKiddy, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 97, of Oklahoma City, passed away on October 28, 2021. Jean was born on August 3, 1924, to John William Potter and Allie Gannaway Potter in Oklahoma City, OK. After Jean graduated from Central High School in 1942, she went on to study education, graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1946. Jean started her career at Culbertson Elementary School, teaching second grade and continued teaching for many years until her retirement. On October 28, 1950, Jean married the love of her life, Richard C. McKiddy, at Oklahoma Baptist University in Raley Chapel, officiated by Dr. Raley, President of Oklahoma Baptist University. Jean and Richard went on to have four children, Kathryn Jean Kutch (Matt), Richard Patrick McKiddy (Deceased), Robert Lynn McKiddy (Kimberly), and Linda Lee Wadleigh (Don). Jean was predeceased by infant son, Richard Patrick McKiddy, her parents John and Allie Potter, her loving husband, Richard C. McKiddy, and her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Betty Potter. Jean is survived by her three children, her grandchildren Nicole Hicks (Michael), Caitlyn Collins (Ryan), Courtney Cooper (Chase), John Richard Bethell (Jessica) and Sarah Jane McKiddy (Eric Garcia). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Nathan Jace and Avery Reece Hicks; Kibby Lee, Cameron James, and Ellie Claire Cooper; Crosby Hayes Collins; and Payton Laurel Bethell. Jean and Richard were long-standing members at First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City as well as First Baptist Church in Norman when they moved from Oklahoma City to Norman in 1972. Jean and Richard returned to Oklahoma City in 1992 and resumed their membership at First Baptist Church, OKC. At First Baptist, Jean was president of Women's Missionary Union (WMU) for many years. Jean loved to play bridge and was a dedicated member of PEO, Chapter DP. In retirement, Jean and Richard loved to travel, but their greatest joy was spending time with their devoted family.Jean spent the last six years of her life at St. Ann's Assisted Living where she received extraordinary care until her final day. Jean entered Heaven on what would have been her 71st anniversary to Richard. Services will be held at Smith and Kernke, 14624 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK, on November 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
