Marilyn Kaye Cook, 72, died on November 13, 2025 in Oklahoma City. She was born to John and Mary Ellen (George) Bellamy on September 4, 1953 in Anadarko, OK.
Marilyn graduated from Ft. Cobb High School in 1971. She then went onto graduate from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1974. After her graduation she moved to Oklahoma City and met her future husband, Joe, in the summer of 1976. Marilyn and Joe married in March of 1977 and were married until his death in 2006.
Marilyn enjoyed a 50-year career in the mortgage industry. The last 27 years, she was a Regional Manager for Radian before moving over to Essent as an Account Manager where she built their entire Oklahoma market from scratch. Marilyn won the Perry Duncan Award in 2023 from the Oklahoma Mortgage Bankers’ Association (OMBA).
Marilyn and Joe were blessed with two children, Casey in 1979 and Callie in 1982. She was a wonderful mother. She was the master of her kitchen and could make a meal out appear from “nothing” in the fridge. She was her kid’s and later grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader at all their sporting events.
Marilyn was a devout Catholic who never met a stranger. She was known to play Christmas music all year long and loved to sing along with Sinatra! She was a rabid Thunder fan and season ticket holder. She loved Wordle, Sudoku, and candles from Bath and Body Works.
She was a true “Triple Crown” of a person – great at her full-time job, loving and supportive wife, mother and Nana, and more than willing volunteer of her time and energy in the community. She never stopped.
Marilyn is now reunited with her best friend and husband Joseph Cook, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Johnny Bellamy, Eddie “Poodle” Bellamy and her father John “Bud” Bellamy.
She is survived by her daughter Callie Cook of Edmond, son Casey Cook of Edmond; grandchildren Tristan, Eli, and Johanna all of Edmond; her mother Mary Ellen Kuntz of Rush Springs; brother Bill Bellamy and wife Joyce of Fort Cobb, her sister Susie White and her husband Lou of Fort Cobb; and several nieces and nephews.
