Mary Ann Heinen, (96 years old), of Piedmont, Oklahoma, passed away on July 24, 2025. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved husband Gerald Heinen, and all her loving children, John Heinen, Geralyn Newman, Dee Ready, and Gary Heinen and daughter-in-law Lyndee Heinen. Her oldest son, James Heinen predeceased her, dying on December 13, 2018. She was under the loving care of her daughter, Dee Ready, for many years.
She was born Mary Ann Osterholt in Okarche, Oklahoma on October 11, 1928 to George Osterholt, Jr. and Mary Christine Mueggenborg Osterholt, both predeceasing her when she was very young. Her sister, Agnes Kraus, of El Reno, Oklahoma, predeceased her as well as did her half brother, Leroy Krittenbrink. She was raised by her grandmother, Margaret (Maggie) Nieland Mueggenborg.
She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1946 and married her husband Gerald, who is a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army. They were married for 76 years and have 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mary Ann worked for many years at Fox-Vliet, a wholesale drug company located in downtown Oklahoma City. During her retired years she worked as a volunteer for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, serving as the receptionist.
Mary Ann loved people, was very kind and made life wonderful for all who knew her. She was a most loving and caring mother and had a great love of her Catholic faith. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, reciting the rosary every day. She was joined in reciting the rosary by her son John when he came to visit every Sunday morning and brought to her and Gerald the Holy Eucharist. Mary and Gerald were unable to attend mass after Covid, due to their aged years, but viewed the mass on television every Sunday morning.
Services will be held at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church located at 7336 W Britton Road in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. Afterwards, she will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City in the mausoleum.
