Mary Jane Kreager Stone died at home surrounded by her family on March 17, 2021. She was born April 16, 1928, in El Reno, the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth Kreager. She attended Blackburn Business College while living at the YWCA in Oklahoma City. She began her career at Gulf Oil. Mary Jane met Robert Paul Stone and they married December 29, 1952. They had one son, Robert Paul Stone II, on August 5, 1953. Her husband passed away on June 26, 1966, and her son on September 9, 2014. Mary Jane worked very hard caring for and supporting her son. She later served as Executive Secretary at Jones and Pellow Inc., retiring at age 70.Mary Jane and her son enjoyed many trips together to Atlantic City. She also enjoyed traveling to New Mexico and California to visit family. She was a great cook and loved reading her Bible. She collected pottery on her trips to New Mexico. Mary Jane was a 38-year member of the Eastern Star as a Star Point. She was initiated to the Siloam of Oklahoma City in 1983.In addition to her parents, husband, and son, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Elsie Sanders, Cecil Kreager, Walter Kreager, and Helen Starkey. She is survived by her sister, Betty Bourne of El Reno; two granddaughters, Heather Elizabeth Vernon and Kathryn Paula Ray; and four great grandchildren, Brittany Elizabeth Vernon and wife Courtney Lei Vernon; Nathan Derek Ray II, Lindsay Madison Ray and Matthew Alexander Ray.The family will receive friends at Smith & Kernke on N. May Friday, March 19 from 4-6 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, March 20 at 2 p.m. at Smith & Kernke with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
