Matthew Dyer Johnson, age 36, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Oklahoma City.
Matthew was born in Phoenix, AZ on December 16, 1989, bringing immense joy to his parents, Janet and Keith Johnson. Matthew loved spending time with his family and friends at their Lake Texoma home waterskiing, tubing, and hanging out. He also loved playing football for the Heritage Hall Chargers.
After graduating from Heritage Hall in 2008, Matthew attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He also attended the University of Arkansas. Most recently, he worked in real estate.
To know Matt was to love him. He was very curious, constantly researching everything from AI to World History. Of course, he was always ready to give you an opinion. He was extremely kind-hearted and accepting of all, with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed waterskiing, boating, snow skiing, travelling, OU football, and spending time with his beloved dog, Lexington.
Left to cherish Matthew’s memory are his mother, Janet Willsey Johnson; his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Kendra Johnson; his uncle, Joe David Johnson; and his aunts, LeeAnn Willsey Fairfield (Dick), Louise Willsey Poole (Colin), and Kelly Johnson Gish. He also leaves behind many extended family members, cousins, and countless friends who loved him dearly and will miss him. Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Keith Dyer Johnson; uncle, Casey Gish; and his grandparents Jo & Joe Johnson, Edward Darling, Barbara Willsey, Theodore Oberlander, Ray Willsey, and JoAnne May.
