Michael Lee Kooken

Born on April 6, 1958, to Jody and Mark Kooken.  Mike was the middle of five children. He passed away suddenly on August 16, 2026, at the age of 68.

Mike grew up in in NW Oklahoma City attending Hefner Junior High School and Putnam City High School. Sports and fishing were an integral part of the Kooken household growing up. Mike loved to fish. Some of his favorite spots included Lake Hefner, Lake Fort Gibson and port Aransas, TX., the latter being his most treasured destination. He had many family memories there and went back as an adult many times. He also loved the slot machines and even won a new car on a machine in Laughlin, Nevada a few years back.

Mike was also very close to his mother and often referred to her as his best friend and biggest support. He will be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jody and Mark Kooken and his brother Kevin Kooken. He leaves behind his beloved Aussie, Rocky. He is also survived by his sister Debie Goss and husband Gregg, sister Paula Simon, brother Mark Kooken, Jr., nephews R. K. and Blake Simon, nieces, Lissa Hudson and Alex Simon Looper.
