Michael Quiring

Michael Lynn Quiring, 76, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 15, 1949, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Eugene and Elouise Quiring.

Mike grew up in Fairview, Oklahoma, where in high school he was active in the Lettermen’s Club, football team, and attended Boys State his junior year. After high school, he attended Southwestern State College, where he was a member of the Diner's Club and a member and co-founder of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. After graduating, Mike served in the National Guard. Following his service, he worked for Anderson Meat, a subsidiary of McDonald's, later moving into oil and gas as a landman. He then spent the remainder of his career at Hertz Corporation, working in IT as a field systems support manager.

Mike was a hardworking man who loved the outdoors, had a passion for his sons' activities, and treasured time spent with colleagues, friends, and family. He met Shelley Wegener in 1975 and on August 14, 1982, he married Shelley, the love of his life. Together they shared nearly 44 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his older brother, Phil.

Mike is survived by his wife, Shelley; his brother, Patrick and wife, Paula, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; his sister-in-law, Fran Quiring, of Fairview, Oklahoma; his son, Blair, of Denver, Colorado; his son, Tanner, and wife, Kelly; and his grandchildren, Miles and Saylor, of Houston, Texas. He had numerous nephews and nieces and cousin Biddy Jane Kuppke.

A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on August 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Downtown Campus, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. All who knew Mike are invited to gather in remembrance and honor his life.
