Michael Kent Stephan

Michael Kent Stephan, beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025. In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated, and no memorial service will be held.

Born on July 18, 1939, in Los Angeles, California, Michael led a life defined by quiet dedication, sharp intellect, kind decency, and enduring love for family and community. He graduated from Jesuit High School in Dallas, Texas, and went on to serve in the United States Navy, from which he received an Honorable Discharge in 1965.

Following his service in the Navy, Michael went on to earn his degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Pharmacy in 1973. Michael worked for many years at the Bone and Joint Hospital at St. Anthony in Oklahoma City, where his calm demeanor and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike.

Michael was an avid bicyclist in earlier years and, more recently, a passionate wine connoisseur. He also gave generously of his time as a longtime volunteer and Friend of the Library, supporting literacy and access to knowledge for all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kay Stephan, and his brother Charles Stephan III. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Stephanie Susan Stephan; his brother George Stephan (Patricia); sister-in-law Marie Stephan; nieces and nephews Cheri Stephan (Steve Mull), Greg Stephan (Susan), Geo Stephan (Jackie), Mandy Taylor (Scott), and Samantha Coleman (Shane); and many, many dear friends whose lives he enriched.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial gifts to Greater Good Charities.
