Michael Robert Sweeney

Michael Robert Sweeney passed away suddenly in Norman on May 18, 2025. He was born October 15, 1952, in Oklahoma City to Robert and Laura "Lolly" Sweeney. He grew up in Oklahoma City and worked in sales. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City and St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Norman. He was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus and former Grand Knight. He was a loving husband to Sandra Lynn Guzman Sweeney, proud father, and loyal friend; but his favorite title was grandpa to his six beautiful grandchildren.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his two sons, Michael Loren Sweeney, daughter-in-law, Mackenzie, and their children, Nora, Luke, and Levi; and Robert “Bobby” Chase Sweeney, daughter-in-law, Calie, and their children Oliver, Brooks, and Sutton; his sister, Susan Marshall; nephew, Tom Jordan; and great nephew, Matthew Jordan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10 am at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial following at Rose Hill Burial Park.
