Micheal Donovan

Michael William Donovan passed away peacefully in his sleep February 26, 2023, at the age of 81. Mike was born July 13, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Stillwater and Barnsdall, graduating from Barnsdall High School in 1959.Mike went on to graduate from OSU in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Business & Psychology. Soon afterward, he moved to California and met his future wife, JoAnn (Baird) Donovan. They married August 20, 1967. In 1978 while Mike was working in Aerospace the family moved to Oklahoma City. He left Aerospace and began working in The Oil & Gas industry until his retirement in 2017.Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports, especially Oklahoma State football and basketball. Most of all, his passion was Auto Racing of all kinds. His very favorite was vintage racing and attending races all over the world with the Jim Click Racing team. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hazel Donovan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, JoAnn. His son Matt Donovan and wife Tiffany and their children Meredith, Nathan, and Kaden. His daughter Kelli Witte and husband Kiley and their sons Cooper and Connor. His Sister and Brother In-Law Debbie and Mark Horvat and their children Nicole Terch and Brit Stueven and their families, also Brother In-law Tom Baird Jr. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Jessup, his brother Bob Donovan, and stepbrothers George, Jim, and Al Oldfield along with several nieces and nephews.A Memorial for Mike's life will take place Tuesday, March 7th at 2:00pm at Smith & Kernke 14624 N. May Ave, Oklahoma City, Ok, 73134.
