Michelle Marie Heinzig, born on September 3, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City on February 17, 2026. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Michelle left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her.
Michelle was a proud alumna of Putnam City Original High School and cherished her upbringing in Oklahoma City, where she moved with her family as a child. Michelle worked at Southwestern Bell/AT&T, where she dedicated 30 years of her life before retiring. In retirement, Michelle found joy in researching her family ancestry and spending quality time with her loved ones.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Don Heinzig, her son Chris Jeffreys and his wife Belinda Shannon, and her daughter Ashley Tocco. Michelle's legacy extends to her grandchildren, Preston Tocco and his partner Chloe Cornell, Lauren Aten and her husband Andrew Aten, Yasmeen Shannon, Bella Jeffreys, and her great-grandson Willow Tocco. She also leaves behind her dear siblings; Cindy Brtko, Kimberly Wood and her husband Paul Wood, and Colleen Jackson and her husband Tim Jackson. Michelle's family was further enriched by beloved nieces and nephews, as well as her cherished granddogs, Lucy and Tucker.
Michelle is predeceased by her father Frank Brtko, her mother Arlene Brtko, and her step-daughter Heather Heinzig.
A funeral service to honor Michelle's life will be held on February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Smith and Kernke N. May Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Michelle's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
