Millard Lafayette Henry, Jr.

Millard "M.L." Henry, Jr. passed from this world April 26, 2023. He was born in McAlester, OK on June 6, 1948 to Dr. M.L. Henry and Mary (Miller) Henry. M.L. was an eager student and pursued education throughout his life. After graduating from McAlester High School in 1966, he attended Amherst College. He later went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with his bachelor's degrees in biology and psychology. He achieved his M.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1991 and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Oklahoma in 1995. He was a man of many talents with numerous occupations throughout his life. From disc jockey to professional bass fisherman on B.A.S.S tour to home builder, he always had a story to tell. He also served in the army, had a brief stint in politics, was a professional boxer, and proud restaurant owner of the Potato Factory and LaFayette's. He went on to become a physician later in life and passed the love of medicine onto his two children.M.L. had an extensive amount of hobbies. He was an enthusiastic University of Oklahoma football fan and had season tickets for many years. He was an avid sportsman starting at the early age of 3. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, shooting guns, and spending time outdoors with family and friends. His passion for the outdoors was shared by his son M.L. III, with whom he spent countless hours in the woods and on the water. Lake Eufaula was a home away from home for his family and where he taught his children to waterski and wakeboard. Above all else, M.L. cherished his family. He and his wife Liubov enjoyed estate sales and traveling to many exciting destinations together. "Papa" was adored by his grandchildren and he lit up whenever one of them walked in the room. M. L. was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew & loved him. M.L. is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Lincoln Henry. He is survived by his wife Liubov Henry; daughter Lauren Chastain, husband Jamie, & their children: Presley, Paxton, Parker; son M.L. Henry III, wife Cassie, & their children: Penelope, Mary Scott, and Eleanor; Ex-wife Dawn Henry; Sister Judy Cerny and husband Tom. In lieu of flowers, the family are requesting that gifts be made in memory of M.L.
