Mireille Christina Taft

Taft, Mireille Christina, aged 60, died April 28, 2024 . She was born on July 29, 1963 in Berkeley, California to Joseph Howard and Mary Gordon Ferguson Taft. She attended Heritage Hall and graduated from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. She graduated from Dean Junior College in Franklin, Massachusetts and attended the University of Central Oklahoma. She spent a year in the Dynamy Internship program in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Mireille was a reluctant participant in an Outward Bound Wilderness program. She was an amateur photographer with an excellent eye for composition. During classes at the Oklahoma Summer arts Institute and Fall Adult Institutes she honed her craft. Mireille’s grandmother introduced her to cruise travel. She loved to travel and was the “Family Photographer” creating treasured photo albums of every vacation trip. She enjoyed ballroom dancing for pleasure and in local competitions and attending the theatre and concerts. Mireille was an all-out fan of Oklahoma State University football.

Mireille cherished her home, her cats and time spent with her family and friends.

Her laughter was infectious, taking only a short time before everyone was helpless with their own laughter. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her mother, step-mother Elizabeth Taft, and her sister Vanessa and cats Chui and Harper. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Dr. E. Gordon and Mary Ruth Ferguson and Helen Eason Murphy And her father Joseph Taft and uncle Thomas Taft.

The family wishes to thank Furnetta Austin and her gracious caregivers for their love and attention to Mireille.
