Nellie Mae Dry

Nellie Mae Dry (née Gorman), 86, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. She was born on February 18, 1939, in Montauk, Missouri, and raised in McFarland, California.

Nellie was the devoted wife of the late William “Bill” Dry, with whom she shared 49 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2014. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.

The eldest of eleven children born to Edward and Pearlie Gorman, Nellie embraced her role as a guiding light to her siblings. Her deep sense of family extended to everyone she loved, and her warmth and generosity touched countless lives.

She is survived by her daughter Amanda Paliotta, son-in-law Armand Paliotta, and beloved grandson Joshua Paliotta and his wife Sarah. Nellie also leaves behind five sisters, three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory and her steadfast spirit.

Nellie found joy in simple pleasures — from her cherished annual trips with Bill to Copper Mountain, Colorado, to the many adventures she shared with her sisters. Her love for travel, family, and the beauty of everyday life will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Nellie’s strength, kindness, and unwavering love will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Her memory will remain a blessing to her family and friends forever.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services held. Her family invites those who loved her to honor her memory in their own special way.
